How much do you know about Canadian immigration and Canadian maple leaf cards?
Experts say compatriots applying for Canadian immigration will have a "maple leaf card" after immigrating to Canada and becoming permanent residents of Canada. This card is a symbol of permanent resident status in Canada and is also a legal immigration visa for free entry into Canada during the validity period.
Canadian immigration law stipulates that the Canadian maple leaf card is valid for five years from the date of issuance, and all Canadian permanent residents must last in Canada for 730 days. Those who hold a maple leaf card must accumulate for two years within the validity period of the card. As long as they do not become citizens, they must always fulfill this residence obligation. Whether you apply for a maple leaf card for the first time or apply for a second maple leaf card in the next five years, you must pass the "residence test". Any person with permanent residence status in Canada must fulfill his or her residence obligations for more than 730 days during any five years. Under the Canadian new immigration law, after allowing immigrants to come to Canada, he must live for two years within five years, otherwise his immigration status will be cancelled.
Maple Leaf Card is an investment immigration visa. This is the pass for permanent Canadians to return to Canada after leaving the Canadian border (the maple leaf card is a visa, but it is an immigration visa). It is proof of identity, commonly known as the "Canadian Green Card". The card records all data required for permanent resident status and is valid for five years. After expiration, permanent residents must submit their application for a new Canadian maple leaf card.
The above is some information about the maple leaf card introduced by experts for friends who are preparing to apply for Canadian immigration. If you still want to know
Canadian Maple Leaf Card Policy Preparation
Canada is located in one of the northernmost North America and one of the Commonwealth countries. It is known as the "Maple Leaf Country". The capital is Ottawa. When an immigrant goes to Canada to apply for immigration, it takes only one year to obtain citizenship. This is a very short-term immigration concept. Below, I will introduce the preparations for the Canadian maple leaf card policy before traveling. Welcome to read!
Canadian Maple Leaf Card Policy
1. Canadian permanent residents must start sliding maple leaf card from 2014
Starting from June 30, 2014, Canadian permanent residents must present a maple leaf card and then hand it over to customs officers to record through the card. In this way, the Immigration Bureau can grasp the actual stay time of Canadian permanent residents to combat fraudulent illegal immigration and restrict some Canadians from living in the United States for more than 6 months a year.
2. How to return to Canada if the maple leaf card expires
For Canadian permanent residents, once the Maple Leaf Card () expires, if you want to return to Canada, you can only apply for a "Permanent Resident Travel Permit" (PRTD) for a foreign museum. However, permanent residents of the country who do not have a maple leaf card can apply directly if they need to go abroad. The answer is no, so they can only apply at foreign museums near the United States. If they are rejected, there is no need to worry about not being able to return to the country. The Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) will be particularly adaptable.
If the maple leaf card expires, if you want to return to China, you can only apply for a "Permanent Resident Travel Permit" from your local lobby. However, for some permanent residents without a maple leaf card, some of them arrived at the port before implementing the maple leaf card, but never applied. Some of them are new immigrants who have just registered but have not sent a maple leaf card or have not approved the renewal application. If you have an emergency, you want to know if you can apply for a "Permanent Resident Travel Permit" in China
The solution is to go to nearby foreign museums in person, such as New York or Seattle. Officials stressed that people don’t have to worry that they will not be able to return to the country when the application is denied. If rejected, CBSA officials will usually accommodate them and let them return to Canada.
3. In the past 5 years, tax bills have been used instead of maple leaf cards
The Immigration Department revised the Maple Leaf Card () alternative regulations in June, requiring inspections of two-year tax bills, causing panic among many non-tax residents. Surprisingly, in July this year, the Ministry of Immigration recently introduced stricter regulations requiring applicants to attach two years of personal income tax form () or a recognized five-year transcript of junior high school in the past five years to confirm that they do live in the country. In addition, all school-age children must submit certificates in school over the past five years.
4. Requirements for Maple Leaf Kaka Exchange Regulations within 2 years and within 5 years
According to the reissue regulations of Maple Leaf, permanent residents must live for more than two years within five years before they are eligible for renewal. I lived in 2 years in 5 years, not from the time of getting a maple leaf card. Its algorithm comes in two forms: one is to reverse the day the maple leaf card is used to expand the application and live for 2 years in 5 years; the other is to count down every time you enter Canada.
Prepare before departure
1. Book your flight
July to August each year is the peak season for Canadian learning, and air fares are often more expensive, especially direct flights. If you want to save money, you can book a transfer ticket. Special reminder: If you transfer from the United States, you must hold a US visit visa! Book before obtaining a visa and issue a ticket after obtaining a visa. There are usually three admission customs in Canada: Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. You need to move from these three places to other cities.
2. About luggage
Different airlines have their own requirements for baggage size and standards:
Air Canada: Check 2 pieces of luggage for free (each piece is ≤158 cm in length, width and height, weight ≤23kg), carry 2 pieces of hand luggage with you, and hold them with your body or suitcase (size ≤, weight ≤10kg);
Air China: Check 2 pieces of luggage for free (the length, width and height of each piece is ≤158 cm, weight ≤23kg), and carry 1 hand luggage with you (size ≤, weight ≤5kg).
3. Carry cash with you
Customs stipulate that the general cash limit for carrying cash on your outbound trip is CAD 10,000 and must be carried with you.
4. Enter a file
Please bring the following items with you and prepare a copy of them for separate storage. Never put them in your luggage to check them.
For the first time entering a student visa, please bring your passport original visa, copy of maritime paper and employment notice, copy of fund certification, and academic qualification certification materials, etc.;
For tourist visas, it is recommended that you make itineraries in English so that you don’t have to be too specific, so you can easily communicate with the officials who are communicating with the sign-in;
For business visas, remember to bring your invitation letter and itinerary.
Interpretation of Canadian Maple Leaf Card Policy in 2018
Under Canada’s current immigration laws, you will have a Canadian Maple Leaf Card after becoming a permanent resident in 2018. Let's talk about the explanation of the Canadian maple leaf card policy. Let's take a look.
The Canadian Maple Leaf Card is a certificate issued by Canada that is provided for immigrants with permanent residency in Canada. Having a Canadian Maple Leaf Card means having the right to live in Canada permanently.
Canadian naturalization refers to applying for nationality to join Canada, giving up Chinese nationality, becoming a Canadian citizen, holding a Canadian passport, obtaining a Canadian ID card, and enjoying all rights of Canadian citizens.
Under Canada's current immigration laws, after becoming a permanent resident, you are eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship after 3 years of residence within 5 years. Regarding the issue of dual nationality, Chinese law does not adopt the same recognition of dual nationality as many other countries and regions, or obtain or non-special references. Article 3 of the Chinese Nationality Law stipulates: "The People's Republic of China does not recognize that Chinese citizens have dual nationality."
If many countries choose to change their nationality and have Canadian nationality, they can be without a visa; although many countries always experience embarrassment when entering and leaving the Chinese nationality of the country, this is already a familiar situation for many overseas friends. Of course, there are also many troubles to change nationality. After a while in China, you must return to the embassy where your nationality is to apply for another visa. In fact, today, nationality, once a symbol of sincerity, now seems to have become a convenient tool for many people to travel.
Everyone chooses their choice for a variety of reasons (e.g., families, businesses, and children), or chooses to keep maple leaf cards or naturalization. In fact, it can definitely be said that it is best to naturalize or retain the maple leaf card. How to choose depends on your individual needs.
If you want to participate in politics, please apply for naturalization
When you have a PR card, you can basically enjoy full social benefits and medical guarantees. However, the owner of the PR card has no right to vote or be elected.
If you are keen on Canadian politics, want to vote for a party you trust, or even try to join the political arena yourself, then applying for naturalization is a must.
If you like where you can go on a trip, please apply for naturalization
This is why many applicants apply for naturalization - Canadian passports. As we all know, Canadian passports are visa-free in Western countries (such as travel destinations in Europe).
Having a Canadian passport is indeed “it keeps it as you said”, rather than trying first to get a visa. This reason excites many travel enthusiasts, so they choose to naturalize.
If you want to return home frequently, please keep your PR card first
When you are naturalized in Canada, you have nothing to do with Chinese citizens. Whether you are back in China to conduct business or visiting relatives, you must go to the embassy to apply for a Chinese visa, and you must pay a fee every time.
Even many people are rejected for visas, for the reason that is ridiculous: you have a tendency to immigrate. Therefore, if you have a family or occupation in China and need to return to China frequently, please do not apply for naturalization first. Although applying for a Chinese tourist visa is not complicated, the restrictions on the rules and regulations will still make you feel: I am obviously Chinese, why am I so frustrated when I returned to China?
If you like to go to the United States, there is not much difference between naturalization and PR
Canada's core cities are all located on the border between the United States and Canada, so they will naturally go to the United States frequently. From this perspective, the difference is not big. If you are naturalized in Canada, you can naturally have a free visa; however, you can apply for a 10-year tourist visa even if you want to get a PR card.
The process is very simple and can usually be completed in a few days. So, from a heading to the United States, there is not much difference between PR and naturalization.
Advantages of Canadian PR Cards compared to temporary visas:
A temporary visa refers to short-term accommodation in Canada, such as a research visa, a tourist visa and a work visa. The main advantages of Canadian PR card over these visas are:
Although you still need to apply for a visa while traveling or studying abroad, these procedures will be greatly simplified.
It's a long time, and you can have it for at least 5 years even if you don't renew your PR card.
Travel freely between China and Canada and enjoy the convenience of self-service customs.
Enjoy full Canadian benefits and don't be treated differently.
Advantages of Canadian nationality compared to Canadian PR:
As mentioned earlier, the advantages of nationality compared to PR cards are mainly in:
Visa-free travel in nearly 130 countries traveling around the world.
Can work in the national political and legal departments.
Have the right to vote and be elected.
Overall, from the perspective of increase, the increase from temporary visas to PR cards is a significant increase, and there is no big gap between PR cards and PR cards and nationality for ordinary people. Therefore, when choosing between naturalization and PR, you must consider where to make progress in the future, consider your personal needs and family situation, and make rational choices.
What are the benefits of Canadian maple card?
Maple Leaf Card, which many people regard as a "green card" and many people even understand it: a card in your hand, from now on, you will never worry about it in Canada. Who said the name of this card is the permanent resident card? So what is a maple leaf card? What is its purpose? What benefits can it bring? The editor will tell you below. What is the use of Canada's "maple leaf card"? What benefits can it bring?
Ensure employment
If Canadian residents (hereafter referred to as Canadian permanent residents and citizens) work six months a year and are unable to continue working due to unemployment, illness, childbirth or adoption of children, they can earn temporary income through the National Employment Insurance Program, i.e., they will receive regular subsidies for a period of time to reduce the impact of unemployment.
The amount of subsidy an applicant receives depends on the length of his working hours and the local unemployment rate. To apply for subsidies, you must go to the Canadian Government Employment Center (), the institution that applies for a social insurance card ().
Available medical insurance
Every province in Canada has a health insurance plan that provides cheap and high-quality health care. The Canadian government allocates about CAD$4.8 billion per year to achieve health care benefits. Insurance plans include medical services, medical expenses, hospitalization and surgery costs, but do not include medical expenses. If your family doctor believes you need hospitalization or even surgery, all costs are subject to a health insurance plan regardless of the size of the surgery. During hospitalization, patients do not have to pay for their own meals, medical expenses, etc. Most prescription drugs are provided for free for older people over 65 years of age, and prescription drugs that receive social relief are provided for free.
Raising a baby is easy
For parents who effectively hold maple leaf cards, there is no need to worry about raising children in Canada.
Parenting subsidies: In Canada, preschool education for 6-year-olds is self-financing. Children's monthly care costs are $600-800, so the government has specially allocated childcare subsidies.
Milk Gold: Every child can be born from birth to 18 every month. The purpose of establishing this subsidy is to help families with low incomes and to encourage everyone to have more children.
Starting in March 2019, parental leave in Canada will increase to about 10 months!
Don't worry about retirement and retirement
The legal retirement age in Canada is 65 years old. Canadian residents, regardless of their assets or income, are eligible for the Elderly Welfare Protection Program as long as they have settled in Canada for more than ten years. It should be noted that pensions are not automatically paid by the government after you reach retirement age, but you must apply for the government within 12 months before your 65th birthday before you can get a pension. In fact, pensions are similar to China's minimum living safety fund. The amount of pension is determined by the length of life the applicant has in Canada and will be paid monthly by the federal government.
In addition to the benefits mentioned above, it is no surprise that the Canadian Maple Leaf Card has all allowances, such as: disease allowance, pregnancy allowance, spouse allowance, etc. It is no wonder that many immigrants are attracted to it.
What benefits can you enjoy with Canadian Maple Leaf Card?
The United States has green cards and Canadian maple leaves cards. Many people may not know about the maple leaf card. What is a maple leaf card? What is the purpose of maple leaf card? Let me tell you~~
The Maple Leaf card is a card commonly known as the Canadian ** Resident Card and was officially implemented on June 28, 2002. The Canadian Maple Leaf Card is valid for five years from the date of its issuance. However, there are some exceptions. If you decide to lose your resident status after failing to fulfill your obligation to live abroad, the applicant can apply for a maple leaf card for one year. Applications for maple leaf card must be submitted within the territory of the country and the applicant must provide a guarantor residing in Canada, who must be a Canadian citizen and has known the applicant for more than two years.
In order to "make the poor and poor in the world a happy place to become a sanctify", the Canadian government allocates funds every year to build a large amount of government housing, and the government entrusts the government to manage it. In a sense, this is a benefit specifically for the poor! If you have a "maple leaf card", you can apply for government housing!
If you immigrate to Canada to get a maple leaf card, you can get a parenting grant. Parenting subsidies: In Canada, preschool education for 6-year-olds is self-financing. Children's monthly care costs are $600-800, so the government has specially allocated childcare subsidies. Milk Gold: Every child can be born from birth to 18 every month. The Canadian retirement plan is implemented in all Canadian provinces. The Canadian retirement plan is a public insurance plan. Canadian residents deduct a certain amount of pension contributions from their monthly income and can receive subsidies through this program after retirement or after a long-term physical disability. Pensions must be paid taxes and can be obtained by applicants wherever they are in the world.
Social welfare funds are the cornerstone of the Maple Leaf Card system. They are used to ensure the basic living standards of every Canadian resident. If a Canadian resident has no income and deposits less than $1,000 in bank deposits, you can apply for this benefit. If a person can get $500-700 a month, a family of three can get $1,100-1,300 a month, which is enough to maintain a low-level lifespan. New immigrants usually don’t enjoy this benefit within the first six months, so it will take funds to log in to Canada to sustain their lives for six months.

In addition to the above benefits, Canada also has all the benefits, such as disease allowance, pregnancy allowance, spouse allowance, etc., which is unimaginable without Canada! As long as you have a maple leaf card, you can enjoy the above benefits. This is indeed a card, I own it in Canada!
New immigration ideas, how can Canadian babies apply for maple leaf cards for their parents?
Canada has good benefits and a good environment, so it has always been the country where many people dream of immigrating, but immigration to Canada is not easy.
For some, the requirement for immigration to Canada is still high, otherwise the application period is long. Sometimes, if you finally get a permanent place of residence, if you don’t maintain a record of living every five years, your identity will be cancelled. If you want to transfer your citizens, you need to live longer.
Therefore, some people do not directly deal with Canadian immigration programs but rather have children born in Canada. When the child is born, he is a Canadian citizen and can help his parents deal with it as adults. In this way, he can realize his dream of retirement in Canada in the future.
So, what conditions should babies born in Canada have a meeting before applying for their parents?
The legal basis of relative immigration
Under the Canadian Act born after February 14, 1977, you can obtain Canadian nationality and be a Canadian citizen.
Canadian immigration law stipulates that Canadian citizens aged 18 or older have legal qualifications to apply for their parents to live in Canada. This situation can be performed after the age of 18 and taxes are paid in accordance with the law. In other words, his parents can apply for party immigration under this policy as early as after they are over 21 years old.
Application conditions
1. Age over 18 years old
2. Living in Canada
3. Canadian citizen/permanent resident
4. Applicants have enough funds to cover their parents' living expenses
Taking Quebec as an example, the total household income in the past three years needs to meet the following requirements. The number of families in the table includes: guarantor, guarantor's spouse and minor children, guarantor's spouse and minor children (they must be counted even if they do not accompany them to Canada).
It can be seen that it is not difficult to meet the funding requirements for applying for parents' reunion. Total income does not include unemployment benefits, social relief, milk currency and other subsidies. As long as the minimum income requirement is met for three consecutive years.
Super visa
As we all know, the waiting and application time for Canadian parties is relatively long. So, are there any other ways to get parents to live in Canada for a while in the first place?
The answer is yes, the method is to apply for a super visa and enter Canada as a long-term tourist.
Super Visa can get a maximum validity period of 10 years and will not exceed 2 years per stay. It is worth noting that the time for approval of a super visa is the same as the remaining validity period of the passport. If the applicant has only 2 years of validity remaining, the super visa obtained will also be valid for 2 years.
Show "password" in Canadian maple leaf card --- Map leaf card holder must read
Canada has always been a popular immigration country that the entire country desires. Now, more and more people are immigrating to Canada and have successfully obtained permanent residence status. However, many people know nothing about the regulations on the maple leaf card they have on hand. Now, experts will share with you the general misunderstanding of Maple Leaf Cards so that your life will be more convenient after immigrating abroad.
One of the misunderstandings is that if the maple leaf card expires and does not apply for updates, the cardholder will automatically waive his permanent resident status.
Many people think the maple leaf card matches permanent resident status. If the maple leaf card expires, permanent resident status will disappear.
Maple Leaf Card is indeed the best proof of permanent resident status. However, even if the maple leaf card expires, it does not mean that it has lost its permanent resident status. But it should be pointed out:
Under regulations, all permanent residents must present a maple leaf card to prove that their identity was when they arrived in Canada on a commercial passenger plane or cruise ship.
Whether entering the Canadian Border Service (CBSA) officials through the air, land or sea, they need sufficient proof of identity, and a valid maple leaf card is the best proof. Not only CBSA, other government agencies often need to confirm permanent resident status to determine whether residents are eligible to apply for certain services.
Misunderstanding 2: Is it illegal to apply for a new card before the maple leaf card expires?
If the maple leaf card has expired and has not been replaced, it will not be illegal. You can even choose not to issue a new card. However, if a permanent resident has plans to go abroad and return to Canada, the best way to do so is to apply for a maple leaf card and prove their permanent resident status at any time.
Misunderstanding 3: After the maple leaf card expires and you have not applied for a new card, you will not be able to leave or enter Canada.
You can still go abroad, but before returning to the country, you must apply to the Canadian visa offices in various places for a one-time use "Permanent Resident Travel Documents" () to return to Canada. Canada is a country that has no control over leaving the country. You can leave without restrictions at any time, regardless of whether you have a maple leaf card or not.
Additionally, as a permanent resident of Canada, you have the right to enter Canada. Even if the maple leaf card has expired, its rights will not be affected. The official website of the Immigration Department says:
The maple leaf card will expire and the person is abroad. He needs to apply for permanent resident travel documents from a Canadian visa office abroad to return to the country. Canadian immigration law provides that when you reach the border, you can prove in any way that you are a permanent resident, not necessarily a maple leaf card.
Misunderstanding 4: As long as you have a maple leaf card and do not need a visa, you can go to any visa-free country in Canada.
Maple Leaf Cards are different from passports or visas, and they cannot enter and exit other countries that require a maple Leaf Card visa. Maple Leaf Cards are designed to accelerate entry into Canada rather than visas. As for visa regulations for individual passport owners in other countries, each country is different and must be clearly checked.
Misunderstanding 5: If you drive back to Canada by land, you don’t need to display a maple leaf card.
All permanent residents must introduce officials to the official who proves their permanent resident status, and the maple leaf card is the best document of proof. If you do not introduce a maple leaf card, the customs officer may ask you to introduce any of the following supporting documents:
1. Fill in (form) "Permanent Resident Confirmation Form"
2. Original "immigrant paper" (
3. There is a copy of "immigration paper" officially confirmed by the Ministry of Immigration's National Headquarters* with login date*
4. A letter from the Ministry of Immigration’s National Headquarters to prove your permanent resident status
Customs officials have the right to ask more questions to determine your permanent resident status.

In addition, you can also get unpaid maternity leave, continue to maintain your pension or medical plan, and return to your original job after the maternity leave is over. During maternity leave, mothers can apply for employment insurance.
Don't worry about retirement and retirement
Canada's legal retirement age is 65 years old. Canadian residents, regardless of their assets or income, are eligible to participate in the "Elderly Welfare Protection Program" as long as they settle in Canada for more than ten years. It should be noted that the pension is not automatically paid by the government after you reach the retirement age, but must apply to the government within 12 months before your 65th birthday before you can receive the pension. In fact, pensions are similar to China's minimum living security fund. The amount of pension is determined by the length of time the applicant lives in Canada and will be paid monthly by the federal government.
In addition to the above benefits, the Canadian Maple Leaf Card also has all the allowances, such as: illness allowance, pregnancy allowance, spouse allowance, etc., no wonder many immigrants are attracted to it.
What are the requirements for living in maple leaf card to immigrate to Canada

第一:每张枫*卡有用期是5年,五年后必须换发新枫*卡;
第二:换发枫*卡的条件是“五年内必须住满二年(累计达到730天)”;
第三:如五年内住不满二年,则不符合换发枫*卡的条件(除非具有移民法规定的例外条件,否则将无法换发枫*卡);
