Maple Leaf Card Update Strategy: Timeline and Precautions

I just got my new maple leaf card and wanted to tell you about my application process so that other people in need can refer to it.

Application and waiting

May 30, 2021: I submitted my application by mail.

June 1, 2021: The Immigration Bureau in Sydney received my materials.

September 17, 2021: I received a confirmation email from the Immigration Bureau.

September 22, 2021: The Immigration Bureau notified me that the card has been completed and is ready to be sent.

October 5, 2021: I finally got the maple leaf card.

Actually, based on their arrangement, I should have received the card within a week. However, the Immigration Bureau sent my ID to the address where I lived in the past, not the location I designated. Therefore, I waited for several days but did not receive the certificate. After checking, I found out that it had returned to its previous residence. I hurried to collect it, but it turned out that I was just in vain.

Application steps and tips

Application is not complicated. Just enter the words "pr card update" and other words on the IRCC official website to find the required file list and precautions. After preparing all the documents, submit the application by mail. It must be noted that the relevant departments will not send emails to notify immediately, so be sure to accurately record the mailing order number so as to verify whether the certificate is sent.

Waiting and querying

Some people may be anxious and wait dryly for the documents to be sent to their hands. In fact, you can call the immigration department to inquire about the progress of the application. Another situation is that if the residence time does not meet the standards and the certificate is about to expire, the Immigration Bureau may shelve the application and wait and see if it changes until it is determined that you have met the residence requirements before you will issue a new certificate.

The role of the intermediary

I have also worked as an agent once to help people apply for a visa. The final right to handle the case is in the hands of the Immigration Bureau, and it is not the intermediary to decide whether the case can be smooth, such as the applicant's personal situation, the efficiency of the intermediary to organize materials, and the meticulousness of the work. As for me, before submitting the client’s application, I will tell them how likely the case is to be successful and what problems are currently there, but I will not assure them that the case will definitely be successful. I really can't do this kind of undetermined guarantee. We are happy to accept customer entrusted handling of affairs, and we also encourage customers to explore on their own, and are willing to sell relevant paid guidance services. This practice is beneficial to all parties. If you think that the success rate of individual applications is not high, it is recommended to consult others more and collect information widely. Do not submit it blindly.
